Brian Bilston, die zijn identiteit verbergt achter een pseudo-biografie, is de Engelse Drs.P. Zijn website bevat de meest idiote gedichten. Zoals dit. Of kerstliederen in haiku-vorm, parodieën, een als spreadsheet gecomponeerd liefdesgedicht – Bilston draait er zijn hand niet voor om. En ook niet voor gedichten in de vorm van een powerpointpresentatie, taartdiagram of een scrabble-bord.
Het taalplezier spat van deze gedichten af. Maar de bovenstaande parodie van een van mijn allerfavorietste gedichten is toch echt wel de kroon op het oeuvre.
